Garlic Parmesan Mashed Potatoes

Garlic Parmesan Mashed Potatoes

Perfect mashed potatoes should be creamy, smooth, and almost cloud-like, and, in my opinion, one of the best tools to achieve this texture is a potato ricer. A potato ricer presses cooked potatoes through small holes, breaking them down into fine, fluffy bits without overworking the starches, which can make potatoes gluey. Unlike a traditional masher, the ricer ensures a smooth consistency with minimal effort, leaving you with the ultimate texture!

Garlic Parmesan Mashed Potatoes

Ingredients

  • 2lb Russet Potatoes, peeled and diced into 1” cubes

  • ¼ cup Caramelized Garlic Infused Olive Oil

  • ¼ cup Half and Half
  • 2 tsp Black Garlic Sea Salt

  • ⅓ cup Grated Parmesan Cheese
  • Chives, to finish

Directions

  1. Add potatoes to a large pot of salted cold water. Bring water to a simmer and cook until tender, about 15-20 minutes.
  2. Strain potatoes and add to a large bowl. Use a potato ricer for smooth potatoes or a hand masher for more textured potatoes.
  3. Mix in olive oil, half and half, salt, and parmesan. Careful not to overmix to avoid a gluey texture.
  4. Top with chives and serve.
